Comparing Roydon and Brighton

Today we went for a walk around Roydon. We looked at local landmarks and old and new buildings.

We made some leaflets all about Roydon.

We also compared Roydon with Brighton and found out lots of differences. We made some fact sheets and did some drawings of landmarks in Brighton. We enjoyed learning about the volks, the pier and lots of other things.

Can you guess what this building is?

Molly's 100 word challenge

Molly had a go at this week's 100 word challenge! She had to write a story in 100 words and include the phrase '...the weather changed for the worst ...' (so 106 words altogether).
What a fantastic job she has done! Can you believe she is only just 6?

One day Pawl and Mandy were getting married and it was a beautiful day as well. The bride was wairing a long white dress with rosses on and the groom was wairing a white shirt with a black waist coat and black trousers. When they were all dressed they got in the long black car and went to the church. They invited lots of people. When they got to the church all the gests wer allready there. The church was cuvered in purple flowers. When they went out side the weather changed for the worst it was raining. So they stayed inside and they had some food.

Sorting

We had fun doing lots of sorting in maths!

Some special visitors

We were really lucky to have a couple of special visitors in class today. Mr Parris came back to tell us all about the school when he started working here and Mrs Scott used to come to Roydon Primary when she was little! We learned loads or things about what the school used to be like.
Thanks Mrs Scott and Mr Parris!

Our class pets

We won the courtesy cards last half term and so we had £60 to spend! We had to decide on what to buy, but most of us agreed that a class pet was what was needed! So, welcome to our class pets Goldie and Finlay! The fish were named by Molly and Jacob, voted by all the badgers, because they had super reasons for those particular names.

Although Goldie and Finlay were quite shy at first, they are now swimming around happily in their new home!

Old or new Roydon?

We tried to find evidence of whether bits of our school were old or new. Here are our photos of areas we liked.
